Sonic
Babe Of The Month - July 2006
Name: Chasing Monroe
From: California
What made you get into Rock N' Roll?
I'd have to say my older brothers showed me the way to long hair
musicians, and guitar solos from hell! Rush, Iron Maiden, Queensryche,
you name it... I could recite every lyric from any album,..(probably
still could today). I didn't know any other music ..esp. No boy
bands!
What was your
first rock concert and what was the experience like for you?
X at the Hollywood Palladium on Sat. Feb 28 1998. My boss from
Domino's Pizza bought the tickets, I drove while he was doing
other things to prepare for the show..(heh).. I had a fake I.D.
Also that night open my eyes to another world. Kamikaze's and
the Famous Rainbow Room. Ahh good times.
What is your five all time
favorite albums (CDs)?
In no order...
Faith No More - The Real Thing
Tool - Aenima or Undertow...can't decide.
The Doors - Waiting for the sun
Deftones - Around the Fur
The Killers - Every song I'm sorry to say Rocks!
Who are your five favorite bands?
Once again no order...
Sublime
Faith No More
Led Zeppelin
Radiohead
Rush
What is your all time favorite song and why?
Romeo Void - "Never Say Never" Because walking around
repeating these lyrics "I might like you better if we slept
together - But there's something in your eyes that says maybe
that's never say never" Is always Classic.
Do you play
an instrument? If so, what & how long? Also are
you in a band, who is it?
Drums. Not that great, but I wanted to follow in my older brothers
footsteps really bad. He was in high school band, and all the
drummers were the "cool
kids". I would of gone onto high school band, but I hated
the band teacher.
If
you can go back in time, who would you like to have seen perform
live?
Wow, that's a hard one, first I'd have to say...
1. Sublime. Bradly's voice,carries me away.
2. The Doors. Jim Morrison, timeless lyrics, radical beats.
3. Pink Floyd. The light shows...of course.
If you could put the ultimate
rock show together with three bands, who would it be?
Radiohead
Bowie
Nirvana
Do you think there's any bands
out today can make rock n' roll big in the mainstream again?
I'd have to say "Wolfmother". I saw them At the Henry
Fonda. I've read they have "A passion for creative expression".
Also thy've been getting fantastic reviews. Also yes they sound
like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, I love it! They can do it,
They just have to keep being themselves and play even harder with
their instruments, and vocals.
What do you think rock n' roll is missing today?
Well
different bands have different styles, new ages, younger
audience. The media is so saturated and the cost of ticket
sales aren't like they used to be. No Eric Clapton's, No
Doors, We need to go back to the roots.
What is your definition rock n' roll?
Generic terms for the range of different styles. So many styles,
it's kinda an overload.
What is your choice of poison (drink)
while enjoying rock n' roll?
When I did drink it was New Castle and Jagger. Now I don't drink,
I stick to Non-Alcoholic brews. Makes ya pee a lot, but hey,
I can drive home Safely!
Any last words or thoughts about rock n roll?
Rock and Roll came from Black Rhythm and blues with a white
twist. Rock and Roll should be shared, why not? We all live on
this earth, let's rock out much as we can, together!
