What made you get into Rock N' Roll?

The records left in house my parents moved into when I was 8 years old! My dad said I could keep them!. There was stuff by The Olympics (Western Movies) and The Ronnettes (Be My Baby), The Easybeats , The Masters Apprentices, Little Richard, Simon Dupree & the Big Sound, Rolling Stones, Quatro and Bowie. I still have all those records now and they are my most precious because they were my first.

What was your first rock concert and what was the experience like for you?

Don't know if you'd call them 'rock' but the first gig I went to was The Go Starts (Later The Stems) from Perth (my original home town) and my first 'concert' was The Damned at an underage show they did in Perth. I thought it was great even though I was a full on mod girl with a jet black concave bob. Dave looked larger than life and it was loud, exciting, black leather clad and rebellious the way rock n roll should be.

What is your five all time favorite albums (CDs)?

I love so many different bands and solo artists that I can't make a permanent top five list. Consistent faves do include Paul Collins Beat (self titled, first Album) Masters Apprentices (self titled, first Album) Boys (the Australian band) (self titled first Album) Shocking Blue (At home) and "Superfly" Soundtrack by Curtis Mayfield.

Who are your five favorite bands?

This is a very hard question. It?s impossible for me to answer with permanent commitment. But consistent faves are Suzi Quatro, Shocking Blue, Paul Weller, The Stooges, and Curtis Mayfield.

What is your all time favorite song and why?

This is killing me, it's so hard... But I think "Hot Generation" by Aussie garage surf-punkers The Sunsets is my choice cut because it demonstrates the Australian sixties sound and attitude because it is about surfing and giving mediocrity the bird and that's the favorite 'true blue' pastime.

Do you play an instrument? If so, what & how long? Also are you in a band, who is it?

Also are you in a band, who is it? I am the crappiest bass player in the world. So I'm not allowed to play any instruments, but I can give you a good belter anyhow, anytime, anywhere. I am the singer in DOLLSQUAD along with Julie our guitarist, Janet our bass player and Nicola our drummer! Together we bring you the rock n doll sound live in retro colour. You can see and hear us at www.geocities.com/dollsquad_rock or www.myspace.com/dollsquadrock

If you can go back in time, who would you like to have seen perform live?

The Ronettes, The Pandoras, Shocking Blue, The Animals, The Kinks, The Pretty Things, The Who, The Creation, Them, John Mayall, Jackie Wilson, The Balloon Farm, T-Rex, We The People, The Equals, Rolling Stones (with Brian Jones!!!) Eddie Cochran, Wanda Jackson, Ike & Tina and the Ikettes, The Dead Boys, Sex Pistols, The Stooges, The Easybeats and The Pleasure Seekers, The Pointed Sticks, ? and the Mysterians, She, The Gonn, Les Lutins, The Litter, The (Australian) Creatures, Blue Cheer, The Faces and Steppenwolf.

If you could put the ultimate rock show together with three bands, who would it be?

AC/DC, The Stooges and The Ramones... Is that rock? It's rock n roll!

Do you think there's any bands out today can make rock n' roll big in the mainstream again?

There are so many really solid bands around at the moment on the independent or underground scene and the sixties scene too that really deserve intensified cred. There is a lotta cool chick bands too...it goes so much deeper than Sahara Hotnights or the Donnas....But times have changed and many kids today wanna play video games and download music on ipods....they are not so much into getting round in tight leather and go to live rock shows...I think the problem is that music and clothes are not as precious as they used to be...a long time ago the underground scene was a lot more exclusive, and the records, clothes, books and the fanzines were hard to get and that is what made them so revered. You'd go round to your mates place and go 'hey, check out what I just found' and they'd do the same...you'd order a lot from mailorder catalogues which were not sent out to all and sundry due to the cost so you'd feel special if you were on their 'list'. There was no eBay to do searches by genre...you had to know your shit or take a punt...But today it's so much more accessible that people don't respect it as much I think and that's really sad. And CD's intensify the problem because they are not as aesthetically appealing so hence, a little bit less collectible in my opinion. There's no warmth...I like the crackles and scratches. It shows the vinyl has been places!

What do you think rock n' roll is missing today?

Showmanship and dressing up! It's the icing on the cake....nobody wants plain cupcakes no matter how good they are - right? I like it when a band differentiates itself from the norm and flaunts conventions or acceptable modes of dress - because that is true punk rock - even those standards that form part of the 'alternative' scenes!

What is your definition rock n' roll?

Sex for the ears!. It's where the term originates from anyway...

Any last words or thoughts about rock n roll?

If you buy indie music rather than download it DollSquad will respect you in the morning! Rock n Doll to the maxxxx!
